Michael Fennessy
Michael Fennessy, Jr. was born in New York City, the second of ten children. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY and moved with his family to Garden City, NY in the early 1970's.
Michael attended The Catholic University of America graduating with both a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Masters of Architecture. Michael is a licensed and registered architect in the state of New York.
His career in construction began as a teenager, working under the mentorship of his father. After completing his studies, Michael joined the family construction business, and in 1991 he founded The Shannon Group, Inc. The firm specializes in healthcare projects and has earned an outstanding reputation throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Over the past several years, Shannon has completed numerous projects at St. John’s, including the Emergency Department, the Main Entrance and Lobby, the 11th Floor Med-Surg Patient Care Unit, and, most recently, the 9th Floor Labor and Delivery Suite.
Michael met his future wife, Martha, while studying at Catholic University. They married in 1984 and recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. Together, they have raised five children—Caitlin, Meredith, Brianne, Conor, and Aidan—and are the proud grandparents of Evelyn and Rory. Michael and Martha reside in North Salem, NY.
